QuickOffice iPhone App Review.

If you remember some time ago our iPhone review for Documents2, we've received quite a number of emails telling us about a better documents processor for the iPhone, with more functionality and easier to use. We've had this app on our iPhones for quite some time now, but it wasn't until last week that we decided to have a go at writing a review for it, because, in all truth, we are intimidated by it.

The team behind QuickOffice Mobile Office Suite has been developing for mobile devices worldwide, with a presence in over 150 countries. It's a brand leader in providing the highest quality office software available to mobile platforms, including Symbian, BlackBerry, Android and the iPhone OS.

Their development for the iPhone OS is strikingly important, as QuickOffice quickly became a necessity for any business professional on the go, that needed an integrated high-quality productivity application with functionality tools to surpass its competition, coupled with ease-of-use that literally blew us away.

QuickOffice offers a complete solution for editing, formatting, sharing and transferring word and excel documents without the need to install any third-party software. It's all done directly via a simply browser file transfer. It includes 6 fully-integrated modules that let you edit word documents and excel spreadsheets, transfer desktop files via WiFi, remotely access MobileMe iDisk accounts, and email files directly with your Mail application on the iPhone.

QuickWord offers high-quality tools for fast and easy editing of all your word documents right on your iPhone. You can easily edit and create Word documents, and you'll have all the functionality you've been used to with your desktop Word processor: intuitive text formatting (bold, italics, font sizes and paragraph styles), auto-correction and capitalization, paragraph styling and alignment, indenting, together with an easy to use text-find functionality. One of the key features of the app is the ability to wrap text at any zoom level, making reading easier and eliminating left and right paragraph scrolling. The double-click and triple-click to select word and paragraph respectively has cunningly replaced by double-tap and triple-tap, making text editing a breeze. QuickWord supports Word documents .DOC, .DOCX and .TXT files.

With QuickSpreadsheet you get the most of editing spreadsheets on your iPhone. While keeping all of the text-editing key features, QuickSpreadsheet also adds a few functionality features of its own, keeping with the nature of the module. You're looking at copying and pasting cell rows and columns, setting and removing cell borders, adding, removing, and reordering worksheets across a single spreadsheet, or setting cell height and width in three easy steps: tap, hold and drag. QuickSpreadsheet offers a professional calculating engine with support for hundreds of Excel and table Math functions. Editing in landscape mode eases the viewing of spreadsheets. The module supports both .XLS and .XLSX Excel documents.

With the Files module, you're in control of emailing, transferring and remote management of all your documents on you MobileMe account. And with the launch of the new OS 3.0, QuickOffice stepped up and added full support of cut, copy, paste and "shake to undo" throughout its internal modules as well as all supported apps on your iPhone.

In a nutshell, QuickOffice is our tool of choice when it comes to coupling productivity, business and mobility, all in one easy to use application. The app is currently priced at $12.99 in the App Store, with no lite version available. Instead, you're given the option to download and install separate modules on your iPhone, such as QuickSheet or QuickWord, each priced at $4.99. In our humble opinion, if you're going to make an investment in one, better go full-throttle and buy the package deal.
