TouchCast iPad App Review.
I can't say I'm particularly fond of Photo & Video apps. I use Instagram from time to time. But that's about it. Mainly because most of the Photo & Video apps I came across lacked the mind blowing effect to make me choose them over Instagram or my regular camera app. But if mind blown was what I was looking for, that's exactly what I got with TouchCast.
What is TouchCast
TouchCast is an extremely complex app, and yet easy to use. It allows you to do mostly anything you can imagine yourself doing with a video. Let me just put it this way: it takes an entire crew to make a newscast or a show. But with TouchCast, you can do all this on your own.
The main purpose of TouchCast is to help you create a professional video to share with the TouchCast community, and the world. Although pretty confusing at first, because of all the options and buttons you can use in recording your video, once the Tutorial is done, you'll see TouchCast is extremely intuitive and easy to use.
First of all, you have to pick a theme for your cast from How To and What To Visit themes to various Newscast themes. Pick a title for your news, and you're good to go. It's time for the really fun part to begin. Film yourself or use the Swap button to catch what's going on around you. Use the teleprompter to write your thoughts and read them as you film, to avoid getting stuck in the middle of your video and having to start all over again.
Special effects, text tools and widgets
Then, you have all sorts of cool image and sound effects to choose from. Also, various filters and colors to apply. Meanwhile, in the Whiteboard Menu, you can find all sorts of Text Tools to use, allowing you to apply any written note to your video, visible to your audience. Then, you have the Title section, in case you want to incorporate more pieces of news in your Newscast or Travel Diary, each one with its own title.
And last, but not least, you have the vApps Menu, including some of the coolest features a Video app can offer. Here, you can add all sorts of widgets to your video. You can integrate a Web Page, or a Snapshot. Your Facebook or Twitter feed. Google Maps and News. Questions, Ratings and Quotes. And so much more.
All this in real time, and free of charge
Oh, and you can use all these options from every Menu in real time. Start your recording and add all sorts of effects, texts and widgets as you go on. Or pause every time you want to add something new, and continue recording once you're satisfied with the new look of your image. Your choice. Your cast.
TouchCast is complex, easy to use, professional, and completely free of charge. It's probably one of the best Video apps I came across so far. So, next time you're surfing the App Store, take a look at TouchCast, as well. You won't be disappointed.
