Trighede - Elever

Trighede iPhone Game Review.

How long has it been since you last played with a yo-yo? I know what you’re thinking. “Yo-yos are for children.” Well, Trighede is the game that might just make you change your mind.

How to play

Trighede is as simple as it gets. A simple tap on the play button gets you right in the middle of the action. Your goal is to line up at least four yo-yos of the same color by dragging each one of them with your finger to the correct destination. You can line them up diagonally or horizontally and once you have a line, they disappear from the screen.

New yo-yos are added to the board every time you make a move or every nine seconds (at the easy level) if you make no move. So you better move fast. The time component is a worthy adversary in Trighede.

With Trighede, the catch is that you don’t move yo-yos wherever you want. The board is filled with pins and yo-yos need to hang on those pins. So instead of moving from square to square like in other connect games, you’ll need to move yo-yos from pin to pin. Of course, if the path is blocked, then you can’t move the yo-yo.

Every time you move a yo-yo or every nine seconds, if you make no move, a couple of yo-yos will pop out on the screen.

A fun game for all ages

Although, at first sight, the game looks rather childish, you have three levels of difficulty to choose from at the beginning of the game or while you’re playing. When it comes to the basics of the game, there is nothing new under the sun, so you will get the hang of it in the first seconds of playing.

Once you started playing, you might not feel that impressed. At first sight, the design and the background music might tempt you to consider the game inappropriate for your age. The childish tune playing in the background, the lovely drawn fence and the baby blue sky covered with tiny clouds moving along the screen don’t really send the message that this is a game for grownups. But don’t quit. Give it a try and in a couple of minutes, your feelings will change.

There is more to Trighede than just a game for children. You don’t just need to be fast, it also involves some strategy. The yo-yos don’t fly above other yo-yos. You need to think in advance, and every time other yo-yos pop up on the screen, you need to know where to place them before the lines are filled and you can no longer move them as you like.

At this point, you probably don’t believe me. Strategy doesn’t really go along with games that look as they were conceived for children. But just wait until your screen gets filled with yo-yos and you lose. Before you know it, you will start thinking about your next move before the next yo-yos even appear on the screen. And then you’re hooked. Because it’s not the complicated games that make us play for hours, it’s the simple game that relax us. And playing with a yo-yo has never been more addictive.
