Bah. It's as simple as this. The Ipad doesn't cut it. There unit has so many possibilities that have not been exploited. First of all, Apple should open up for more creativity in regards of developing applications for the Ipad. The same goes for third party devices.
I remember when the AMIGA computer was on the market. What was special with that computer was not only it being way ahead of its time, but the creativity it produced.
The manual that followed was so detailed and had so much information that even computer tech's today come asking if they can borrow my copy so they can understand things on the PC.
There where thousands of DIY hardware kits for the machine. I remember making a remote control for mine that I used to turn on the TV, and switch the channels.
There where even touch screen applications for the thing, and that was in the late eighties.

Why not create an Ipad that is water proof ???
A real sonar unit for it, so you can use it as a fish finder. With A sonar, and the GPS navigation this would be the perfect combination for boating and outdoor activities.
And while you are at it an external thermometer. Then you can set your Ipad to tell you when the turkey is ready, or use it as a weather station.
For fish farms and research there could be oxygen sensors, PH sensors, and much much more.
If Apple really wanted to make a ground braking appliance out of the Ipad they could do so. The question is if they are inventive enough or just stuck up bowler hats trying to push another useless piece of junk on the public.
