Appbite runs a website with articles and apps, and Appbite Search, a free topic-based search engine and website directory.
Search results and directory listings point to websites run by other people. We do not control, endorse or guarantee them.
Use the Service for normal personal use. Automated querying, scraping, and attempts to get around our security or rate limits are not allowed.
If you send us feedback, suggest a website, or rate a result, you let us use that submission to run and improve the Service.
The Service is provided "as is", without warranties, and our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by law.
Most disputes must be resolved through binding individual arbitration, not in court or as part of a class action. This does not apply to EU/EEA/UK residents, see Section 14.6.
These Terms are governed by New York law.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we collect and use information.

Welcome to Appbite. These Terms cover the Appbite website at appbite.com, including its articles, apps, and the Appbite Search topic-based search engine and website directory at appbite.com/search and travel8.com, together with related pages and features (the "Service"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Service. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility

The Service is a general audience website and is not directed at children under 13. If you create an account, you must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to consent to online services in your country if that is higher. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Service.

By using the Service you confirm that you are not prohibited from using it under applicable law.

3. The Service

3.1 Website, Articles and Apps

The Appbite website publishes articles and offers apps. Articles are for general information only and are not professional, legal, financial or medical advice. Apps may be offered on the web or through app stores; an app may come with its own additional terms, and the app store's terms also apply to apps you download from it. Where additional terms conflict with these Terms, the additional terms apply to that app.

3.2 Search Results

The Service helps you find websites by topic. Results come from our own index of public web pages and from third-party search partners. Results are produced automatically and their order reflects our ranking methods, not an endorsement.

3.3 Website Directory

The Directory lists websites by category. Listings are reviewed and maintained by us, but a listing does not mean we recommend, verify or are affiliated with the website.

3.4 Third-Party Websites

Search results, directory listings, previews and descriptions link to websites operated by third parties. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, products, services or privacy practices. You visit them at your own risk and under their own terms.

3.5 Topic Filtering

When you choose a topic, we try to narrow results to that subject. Topic filtering is automated and may include results that are not relevant, or miss results that are. Do not rely on topic filtering, or on any other feature, to block content you do not wish to see.

3.6 Changes to the Service

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including its articles, apps, features, topics, result sources and availability, without notice.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Send automated queries or use bots, scripts, crawlers or scrapers to access the Service, except with our written permission
Copy, scrape, resell or redistribute search results, directory listings or other content from the Service in bulk
Attempt to get around rate limits, access controls, security checks or blocks we apply
Probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities, or attempt to access systems or data not intended for you
Send content designed to attack the Service, such as code injection, malicious payloads or excessive traffic
Manipulate rankings, ratings or the Directory, for example with fake votes, fake feedback or repeated submissions
Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, obscene, misleading, or that infringes another person's rights
Use the Service in a way that breaks any applicable law

We may block, limit or suspend access by any visitor, network or account that we reasonably believe has broken these rules or is harming the Service or its users, with or without notice.

5. Accounts

Some features may require an account. Where sign-in is available:

You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for activity under your account.
You may delete your account at any time. See our Delete Account page.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.

6. Your Submissions

The Service lets you send feedback, report results, suggest websites or categories for the Directory, and rate results ("Submissions").

You keep any ownership rights you have in your Submissions.
You grant Golby Systems LLC, dba Appbite a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, store, edit, display and act on your Submissions to operate, maintain and improve the Service.
We are not required to accept, publish, act on or respond to any Submission, and we may edit or remove Directory listings at our discretion.
You confirm that your Submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to send it.
Do not include sensitive personal information about yourself or anyone else in a Submission.

7. Our Content and Intellectual Property

The Service itself, including its design, software, logos, topic structure, Directory categories, descriptions written by us and the selection and arrangement of results, is owned by Golby Systems LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. They do not give you any right to our trademarks or branding.

Content on third-party websites, including the titles, snippets and images shown in results, belongs to its owners.

8. Copyright and Removal Requests

If you believe a result, preview or Directory listing on the Service infringes your copyright or should be removed for another legal reason, contact us using the details in Section 17. Please include the page address on the Service, the content concerned, your contact details and the reason for your request. Removing a result from the Service does not remove the content from the website it comes from.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service and how we use it. Our Cookie Policy explains the cookies and browser storage we use.

10. Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that breaks these Terms or is harmful to the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time.

Sections 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 continue to apply after your use of the Service ends.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error free, that results will be accurate, complete, current or suitable for any purpose, or that linked websites are safe or free of harmful code.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Golby Systems LLC, dba Appbite SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR RELIANCE ON, ANY THIRD-PARTY WEBSITE OR CONTENT REACHED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Golby Systems LLC from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

14. Arbitration Agreement (IMPORTANT)

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

14.1 Binding Arbitration

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may bring claims in small claims court if eligible.

14.2 Arbitration Rules

Arbitration shall be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.

14.3 Location

Unless otherwise agreed, arbitration shall take place in New York, New York, or be conducted remotely.

14.4 No Class Actions

You agree that arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis only, and not as a class, collective, or representative action.

14.5 Governing Law

This arbitration agreement and any disputes shall be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act and, where applicable, the laws of the State of New York.

14.6 EU/EEA and UK Users

If you are a resident of the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, Sections 14.1 through 14.4 do not apply to you. You may bring claims before the courts of your country of residence, and you keep all rights provided under applicable consumer protection law, including the right to access your national courts and any applicable alternative dispute resolution schemes.

15. Governing Law (Non-Arbitration Matters)

To the extent any dispute is not subject to arbitration, these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. For EU/EEA/UK residents, nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
