iDrink4Free iPhone App Review.
iDrink4Free might seem like a con at first, but the one who's doing the conning is you. With a few tips and tricks from this app, a slight of hand and a convincing story, you get to con your friends into buying you the drinks. Every time.
37 bar bets and tricks to choose from
The tricks contained in this app are everything and well worth the buck. Every trick comes with careful instructions on how to tell a good story to your friend, what you'll need and how to perform the trick itself.
All the 37 tricks come with written instructions on how to perform the trick. You shouldn't have any problems with understanding and following the steps towards a free drink. However, 19 of the 37 tricks come with video tutorials, which should make things crystal clear.
As I said, the main point of the app is the tricks themselves. To further your experience with iDrink4Free, you have three nifty additional options. You can pick a random trick and do it using the Random option at the bottom of the screen. If you find a trick that you liked, you can add it to Favorites. Any trick is shareable via email and Facebook.
The interesting option is the map where you can plot your successful tricks and see where close to you other tricks have been performed.
There is no need for an internet connection with the app, so the 19 videos are all downloaded to your phone, making the app occupy 140MB of storage.
iDrink4Free is not a landmark in user-experience design. The social sharing buttons are tiny and seem almost hidden. The videos failed on my iPhone 3G, which leads me to believe not a lot of testing occurred on the 3G.
But all in all, you shouldn't be afraid to spend 99 cents on this nifty app. It will come in handy at parties, as a conversation topic, as a pick-up line, not to mention the free drinks.
Whether you spend a lot of time bar-hopping or you just want to show off to your friends, iDrink4Free is a great app to have in your pocket. It doesn't have to land you the free drinks as long as it's good fun among friends. Bottom's up!
