We all see the DC and Marvel Comic Book inspired movies every year. The Box Office numbers are living proof of just how popular these movies are. But how long has it been since you last read a Comic? I know watching the movie is a lot more fun, engaging, and action packed. But with today’s technology, comics aren’t what they used to be, either. They may not yet be as engaging as the movie, with its special effects, and top rated actors. But they’re not anymore just about reading, either. And Midnight Rises is the perfect example of a modern graphic novel.

Midnight Rises is an interactive graphic novel. So, reading the story, doesn’t only mean you get to find out its twist and turns, but you also unlock all sorts of interesting items. From special packs containing additional info about the characters, to all [...]

From time to time, comes an app that leaves me absolutely amazed, and impressed. This week it’s the Khan Academy’s app that is absolutely fabulous. Not only that you can use it to learn Maths, Chemistry, Economics, Art, History, and almost anything for free, as the name of the app states it right from the start. But you can do all this in a fun, creative manner, without having to move an inch from your favorite spot in the house.

Khan Academy’s app is a must-have tool for any student. It helps you learn about all sorts of History, Art, and Science topics, by reading papers provided by important cultural sources like The British Museum, California Academy of Science, American Museum of National History, Stanford School of Medicine, and the list goes on with about 15 other names. The papers are brief, extremely interesting, and reading them almost feels like taking the tour of a [...]

When learning a new language, I find there are, at least, three approaches you can choose from: classical, artistic, and modern, let’s call them. Simply put, you can either start a course, buy books, dictionaries, and other useful materials. Visit a foreign country, and learn the language straight from the people, their movies, their traditions, and culture. Or download an app to help you. An app like Babbel.

Babbel helps you learn a foreign language, as fast as you can, without having to leave the comfort of your home. You can learn one or more languages out of the 13 the app currently offers, from Portuguese, Dutch, or Swedish to Turkish, Russian, or Indonesian. Learning a foreign language has never been more fun, comfortable, and easy than it is with [...]

Back in the not so old days, when you asked kids what they wanted to become, you would have probably got answers like ballerina, doctor, princess, astronaut, pilot, or painter. Back then, social media analyst, PR consultant, or programmer were jobs that most grown-ups hadn’t heard about, let alone children. But times change, and so do people. Of course, there are children who still want to become doctors, and astronauts. But today, there are also children who want to become programmers. And Hopscotch was designed especially for them.

Hopscotch is intended to familiarise your child with the world of programming. Now, don’t imagine he will learn to write actual code. But he will learn how to make a simple play button, or a tap on the screen lead to an actual action. No complicated code, no other [...]

I am always mesmerised by the Educational apps in the App Store. I don’t know if kids are as excited as I am discovering them, but I find them absolutely amazing. They make learning, reading, writing so fun and easy to understand. And Marco Polo Weather makes no exception. Actually, it is one of the best, new, and free apps to download this week.

Marco Polo Weather is a great educational app that helps your child learn about yet another new and interesting subject: the weather. With an interactive platform, where he can play, experiment, and explore, he will discover how all climatic phenomenas take place. Not just by hearing about them, but also by seeing how it all happens. It’s extremely fun and captivating!

To begin with, your child has three sweet-looking creatures to pick from and see how they react during different weather changes. And how the environment around [...]

Feel like you’re lacking focus? Or, would you like to improve your writing skills, calculate faster or better articulate your thoughts? Well, you could take a Math Course, a Writing Course, a Grammar Course, a Speaking Course…or, you could download Elevate from the App Store. Your all in one, free to download, brain elevator.

I have been training my brain with Elevate for more than a week now, and, it might just be the Placebo effect, but I feel that Elevate puts my (mind) wheels in motion faster. Usually, after waking up, I needed a couple of hours to read some articles, watch some videos, do a bit of research, before starting the actual work I had in store for that day. Now, after a couple of brain exercises with Elevate, I feel that my mind is up and running in no time. Elevate is what really wakes me up in the morning…along with a good cup [...]

Needless to say, The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most prestigious museums in the world. Next to the Louvre, the Guggenheim or the British Museum, the MET is one of those museums you must see at least once in a lifetime. The MET doesn’t need any presentation, any add in a magazine or app to get people to know about its existence. However, there are a couple of apps in the App Store supported by The Metropolitan Museum of Art. And the 82nd & Fifth from the Met app is truly one of the best new apps this week.

82nd & Fifth from the Met is a great educational app. 100 curators talk about 100 works of art that changed their perspective on the world. Every video lasts no more than a couple of minutes, and is accompanied by a series of astonishing pictures or videos presenting the piece [...]
