E! Online acts as a mobile portal between the Entertainment News Online website www.eonline.com and the user's iPhone or iPod touch. The app brings at the users' fingertips celebrity photos, news that made the headlines, shows and various other celebrity information and gossip. It also takes advantage of the iPhone's portability and 3G streaming capabilities and lets you watch full episodes of your favorite E! Shows.
One of the features that impressed us was the "My Celebs" that lets you create a personalized channel for all your favorite celebrity news and gossip, complete with photos and videos. The development team from E! Online outdid themselves and created an app packed with all sorts of social networking and sharing capabilities, to help you spread the E! news.
Why yes, high-res photos from photo galleries are definitely an integrated part of the app, and as with their website, I expect it to be one of the most used sections. Bottom line is, if you were into E! News before, you're bound to be caught starring and browsing this iPhone app's database for hours on end. If you're just getting into this celebrity gossip business, you'll sure appreciate the capabilities E! Online has to offer.
One of the downsides of the app is that it is only available in a select number of country stores (yes the US and UK are top of the list of course), leaving the others craving for such an iPhone app that delivers their much needed news and gossip to quench their thirst. We would expect the app to be released across the Appstore.
