Tiny Election Free iPhone Game Review.
With Tuesday's elections drawing closer, there's been a lot of talk about the race, the debates, who's talking where, who's going to win Ohio and where the swing votes are this year. Perhaps we should all take a step back and relax a bit before actually going to the polls, without actually losing sight of the fact that in just two days, the next leader of the free world is elected. And what better way to do this than with the trusty iPhone and a relaxing game like Tiny Election?
How to play
You'll feel right at home with Tiny Election, because the game play is entirely identical to Angry Birds, with the only difference being that you get to use Democrats or Republicans instead of pigs and birds (kind of makes you wonder who's who).
Your first task is to pick a side (Democrats or Republicans) and you can start the game. In the free version, you're only allowed to use either Obama or Romney to rack up points and win the presidency. You can purchase the Pro version and unlock additional party characters including Joe Biden, Hillary or Bill Clinton, Al Gore or Kennedy (on the Democrats side) and McCain, G.W. Bush or Reagan (on the Republican side).
The stage is now perfectly set for a great cartoon political arcade game.
The graphics are histerical, from the hillarious characters to the decors. You'll have a blast playing this game. Unfortuantely, the physics engine used in Tiny Election is not as realistic as Angry Birds. Characters fall as blocks of wood instead of going with the flow, rolling a natural motion. Angry Birds has a je-ne-sais-quoi that has you slinging away for hours on end. Tiny Election has all the ingredients, but the glue that pulls it all together is not as good.
Isn't this just another Angry Birds?
Yes and no. The game play is Angry Birds all the way, but apart from letting you sling politicians at each other, Tiny Election also has a very informative side to it. The most important feature is the ability to register to vote and make your vote count. The registration is powered by Rock the Vote.
Perhaps this game should have been called Angry Presidents! Despite its poorer physics engine, Tiny Election will have you rooting for Democrats or Repulicans in no time at all. And the fact that the game tries to also break the barrier of a game and provides you with the opportunity to register to vote receives a big thumbs up from me!
