Banking Bible iPhone App Review.
If you've spent so many hours waiting in line at the bank only to find out that you don't qualify for that credit line, or that the payment plan is not what you thought it would be, then maybe it's time to educate yourself with a little helpful app that provides all the reference you need on general banking terms. Banking Bible for the iPhone will save you that trip to the bank and get you on your way to getting the financial knowledge and planning for your future.
The app will guide you through the basics of loans, credits, personal accounts and provide you with helpful tips on how to prevent identity theft. The first thing you notice when you start the app is the friendly welcome screen and the four areas that Banking Bible is ready to help you with.
In the Loans section, you'll be taken through the various types of loans, such as Home loans, Mortgage loans, Vehicle loans and their general guidelines and what you need to apply. These guidelines will help you understand the basic differences between Home Equity Loans, Home Improvement Loans or Construction Loans, and what to look for when financing for a new or used vehicle.
In the Credit Help section, you'll get the general tips on what a credit score is, how it's calculated, how you are rated and how you overall score will affect your interest rate. You can also find out what are the factors that are involved in the computing of your credit score, and how to build good credit from no credit or even bad credit.
The Identity Theft section I found to be most useful, and even though the information there is fairly general, the 10 steps to prevent identity theft can never go out of style and we can never hear them enough times. The steps cover everything from shredding important information, keeping tabs on financial statements and how to spot phishing emails and other scams.
If you don't know the difference between Credit Unions and Banks, how they operate and what they each do, then head on to the Accounts Info section and find the general info on the matter. There, you can also get the tips on Check Cards and Debit Cards.
The app is an overall general reference and there are of course many things to improve and add. Apart from me craving for more information, more tips and generally more reference, I would have especially liked to see a search function for the app and clearly a better navigation system. The app is basically structured around a back/next functionality, but once you go two or three levels down, you're stuck to hitting back until you go back to the original screen and have to start over. These are issues that need to be fixed, but the effort is highly appreciated and a good start that needs to be commended. Especially since Banking Bible for the iPhone is available for free to download from the App Store.
