Kung Food Fighter iPhone Game Review.
Just when I thought the Fruit Ninja frenzy passed, I came across Kung Food Fighter. Which is, in short, the lite version of Fruit Ninja. But with a potential of becoming just as addictive.
The goal of Kung Food Fighter is to slash as many fruits as you can in 90 seconds. The more fruits you slash, the more points you earn. And that's pretty much the only rule. Because, unlike Fruit Ninja, with Kung Food Fighter, no matter how many fruits you miss, the game won't be over until your 90 seconds are up. So, in a way it's easier, because you know that no matter what you do, you still have time to make up for the fruits you missed. But can you handle not being number 1 among your friends on Facebook, when you compare scores or compete against each other? And that's how the Kung Food Fighter frenzy can begin.
The downside
Now, a pessimist would probably be disappointed with Kung Food Fighter. It's not cheaper than Fruit Ninja. And it's definitely not better. Since it only offers one game option, it lacks the necessary incentive to keep you playing the game for more than a couple of times. Plus, the Facebook friend challenge option doesn't work (right now). So, why would I pay for this game?
The bright side
Because it's got potential, the optimist would probably say. It's easier than Fruit Ninja, so it's more relaxing to play Kung Food Fighter. And the game is just at the beginning. The developers, themselves, are asking for opinions and suggestions to make the game better. Kung Food Fighter could do with levels. Power-ups to increase your time limit. More combo options. A better multiplayer option. It could offer you everything you didn't find with Fruit Ninja. And more.
On the right path, but still far from its destination
For me, the truth is somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't buy Kung Food Fighter as it is at this point. Don't get me wrong, the game is pretty fun, and a great time waster. And it's far from being expensive. The thing is it just doesn't have what it takes to be worth it. It has potential, nobody can deny that. But I'd like to see some of that potential turned into something real before putting my money on Kung Food Fighter.
