I’ve seen my share of photo apps that make use of the iPhone’s camera. I’ve even been satisfied with some of them so much I’ve used them instead of using the regular Camera app from iOS. Right now, I think all these are ready to be replaced by the new ProCamera iPhone app. It’s all I’ve ever needed in an photography application, and even though I take photos only for fun, I see the tremendous potential it offers to more advanced users. I’d go so far as to say professional photographers.

ProCamera comes bundled with a whole bunch of features, and even though it’s not the point of this review to go through all of them, I’d like to take a few moments to list some you’re bound to use every time.

Apart from the usual zoom-in, zoom-out, a self-timer or capabilities such as auto save or geo-tagging, ProCamera comes with an [...]

Karaoke Now! 2.0 is a Karaoke player for your iOS device. The songs themselves come from TriceraSoft’s online catalogue or from your own computer, provided they are in the right format.

I need to begin by saying that their database of songs is huge! There’s over 40,000 tunes you can choose from and new songs are provided at regular weekly intervals. With this huge a selection, your party will never be boring and will never get old!

That’s the great news. The not-so-great news is that these songs cost money, a whole lot more money than if you were to purchase the original version from Apple’s iTunes. In order to save you some hard-earned cash, TriceraSoft gives you the option to buy credit packs, and therefore make songs more affordable. Still, the lowest per-song price you get is $1.89, which is still a lot [...]

photostamper-iphone-app-review

We’ve all started to think of our iPhones as a pocket camera. It may not have the same resolution as one of the more powerful point and shoot digital cameras out there, but for those simple Kodak moments, we’re all bound to use our iPhone to take a quick snapshot. We always have it in our pockets, it’s lighter and more personal than the digital camera and it has some neat features like GSP tagging for photos.

In order to enhance those neat features with something extra, Soft Density launched PhotoStamper for your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The app lets you easily stamp your photos with titles, GPS location, time, date and place the photo was taken.

PhotoStamper features a simple edit screen. Select your photo from the iPhone’s albums, and any GPS information that might be available with the photo will [...]

mind-scan-camera-iphone-app-review

That’s right! With Mind Scan Camera, you can easily turn any photo-shoot occasion into a mind reading session. At least that’s what the developers have proposed to accomplish with this app. Whether or not they’ve actually done it, is up to you. There’s no reason not to download this one and give it a shot, since it’s totally free.

So in essence, Mind Scan Camera uses either a picture from your camera roll or a fresh new photo you can take from within the app and scans it for faces. Once it detects the faces of people in the photo, it asks you to confirm that it nailed it right, and then it uses smokes and mirrors to detect which people exhibit which emotion. Essentially, smile and you’ll get a happy mood, look dull and you’re bored, scream and you’re angry, etc. The app is supposed to detect up to 12 different moods: Happy, Exciting, No-Idea, Angry [...]

Share Your Music With The World

Perhaps not a lab-tested theory, but music unites people. Artists have used their talents for social causes, wrote lyrics that appealed to a certain event, and created their fan basis in the process. We, the fans, will always socialize easier and better with like-minded people, people that share our music beliefs amongst other things. Why shouldn’t we take pride in what we listen to and share it with the world? Stage picked up on this trend and developed its own music player and social sharing app for the iPhone. You can share the music you’re listening to via Twitter, Facebook and even email, without ever having to leave the app.

First off, you should meet Stage – The Music Player. While it doesn’t aim (officially) to replace Apple’s own iPod.app, Stage acts as a music library for your iPhone. Start up the application [...]
