Remember when you were little and you used to pile up bricks or cards or whatever seemed appropriate, trying to make your pile as high as possible? Now, it would look a little odd if you would start piling up bricks or cards while you’re at the office. But that doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to the thrill of stacking things. Especially now, when you can test your stacking skills with a single download of Stack King from the AppStore.

Stack King is an addictive arcade game, where you basically have to create a stack of boxes. And you can do all this with just one tap on the screen. One tap, plus a good hand to eye coordination and reaction time. Because these boxes don’t just stand there, waiting for you to pick them up. As they slide horizontally from one side of the screen to another, you have to stop them with a tap, when you think [...]

When you say puzzle, you automatically think of pieces that have to go along to create a bigger picture. Well, but what if, instead of creating a picture out of puzzle pieces, you were supposed to recreate a song? Sounds interesting? Well, there’s only one way to find out. Download Musical Puzzle HD from the AppStore and find out for yourself.

Musical Puzzle HD is a new type of puzzle that requires both your visual and audio skills. Just pick a song from the list provided by the app, play it, and try to recreate it by using the audio puzzle pieces that you are given. Once you found the right piece, add it to the board and play the song once again to see if you were right and what sound you need to add next.

With Musical Puzzle HD, the unique feeling of listening to classical music is accompanied by the thrill of actually being [...]

On The Art Of Speed-Dialing With Your iPhone

TaggyDial lets you pair pictures of your friends and family with contact information already available on your iPhone by tagging faces in the pictures. Afterwards, you can just tap the face you previously tagged to call that person.

This iPhone app tries to make use of all the photos you already have on your device and lets you magically call a person by tapping on its face in a photo. Well, it’s not really magic, because you have to manually add photos to the app, tag each person in the photo and pair it with one of your contacts or create a new one.

Then, when you want to call your friend Bob, launch TaggyDial instead of the Phone or Contacts app and tap a picture and then tap your Bob’s face to bring up his contact card. Tap the number you want to call and you’re done.

You can also have more than one contact in a photo. This works [...]

Jeju, certified by UNESCO as 2010’s Global Geopark, is more than just another one of Korea’s islands. With its Natural World Heritage Site Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes, Jeju is Korea’s most valuable and beautiful island. From rugged sea shores to open plains with horses, from mountains, caves, waterfalls and other landscape attractions to fun activities like golfing, submarine tours or pleasure boat rides, FunJeju is the iPhone app to have around when traveling to that part of the world.

The app comes in English, Chinese and Korean, although the AppStore screenshots will have you look at the Korean version. Don’t get scared, most of the app’s contents are also available in English, although some areas of FunJeju will need you to speak Korean to access.

And I guess this is my main concern with the app. Not [...]

It’s been a while since I played a good number-puzzle game. I used to love their simplicity and, most of the times, the twists that these games brought to old classics like Sudoku or Minesweeper. Rocky Isle may be a bit disappointing in the graphics department, but it’s a seriously great game for the iPhone and iPad.

If you’ve played any type of grid-based numeric puzzle game, you should be able to get the low-down of Rocky Isle in no time. Start out with the easy puzzles and the game has a very low learning curve. The hard puzzles however will have you pinned down in front of your iPhone for a few good minutes!

Rocky Isle is Sudoku meets Minesweeper. You have a grid, separated by lines into islands of different sizes. Every empty square on each island corresponds to one number, and you have to put numbers [...]

The new Android based Kindle Fire has arrived at AppBite HQ.
Is this an iPad killer ? Find out on AppBite.com with our first look at Amazon’s entry into the tablet market.

What have Amazon for us ? When first opening the box we were surprised how small the Kindle Fire was, when you think 7″ display vs 9.7″ display it you don’t think much of it, but this thing is tiny. It then dawned on us Amazon have sized the device to be exactly the same as the 3rd Generation Kindle, which is now known as the Kindle Keyboard, so it will fit into a jeans pocket (we really wonder if this is what they measured when designing the original).
