My Virtual Girlfriend Is One Sizzling-Hot iPhone Game

By Bogdan Lazar   August - 12 - 2010    See more Apps inApp Reviews, Games & Entertainment   2 Comments

Fair warning is due. If you’re not into this type of simulation games, you’ll be a bit disappointed by what you can actually do in it. There’s no adventure, there’s no fantasy and (despite what you might have wondered after seeing the title), there’s no sex involved in My Virtual Girlfriend. All this is not to say that some gaming enthusiasts amongst you will not definitely enjoy this release.

I’ve reviewed similar games in the past (see MyGirl), but they lacked the depth that My Virtual Girlfriend provides. There’s a big variety of interactions you have at your disposal. It’s not really a full-fledged Role Playing Game, but it does follow along these lines.

The first step you have to do in My Virtual Girlfriend is tell the app a little something about you. Pick your name there Don Juan and rate yourself when it comes to [...]

Caveman Test iPhone Review + Promo Code Contest: 20 Codes Available

By AppBite Team   February - 22 - 2010    See more Apps inApp Reviews, Games & Entertainment   1 Comment

The two geniuses behind Str8ts and 1 to 25 have already set the bar very high for the iPhone puzzle game industry. It was kind of unexpected to see that they would be the ones to raise it even higher with another neat puzzle for your mobile delight. The game is called Caveman Test and I would dare say it raises new expectations from future puzzles that would be published in the AppStore in the year to come.

Caveman Test, while not an original concept, stands as the innovative brother of “Sticks and Stones.” This age-old game, prehistoric one might say, appears to be what cavemen where playing after a long day hunting. All they needed was sticks and stones, and of course a clever mind. Cave paintings and wear marks tend to confirm that theory that these homo sapiens were the first puzzle inventors, while the rest is [...]

iBomber – One Of The Best Arcade Action Games For The iPhone

By AppBite Team   February - 1 - 2010    See more Apps inApp Reviews, Games & Entertainment   4 Comments

I personally like World War II depictions in cinema and literature, and it came as no surprise why I enjoyed the iBomber experience on my iPhone. This iPhone game put me right there in the action, and although I liked FPS games more, my role as a Word War II bomber suited me just fine thanks to the easy controls and fast-paced game play. iBomber is one iPhone game you’re bound to pick up and forget to put down.

You can control your bomber using only your iPhone’s touch screen and the accelerometer. There are no virtual sticks or directional pads, no complicated key combinations. Just drop bombs like you’ve got a whole bag of them from Santa. And actually you do. In iBomber you can’t run out of ammo, which is a cool thing, and one less detail to worry about. iBomber is focused on you experience in-game, and were it not [...]

The Case Of Sherlock Holmes Mysteries For The iPhone + FREE PROMO CODE

By AppBite Team   January - 28 - 2010    See more Apps inApp Reviews, Games & Entertainment   15 Comments

With the recent release of Sherlock Holmes by Guy Ritchie came the launch of the official iPhone game from WarnerBros. That is not to say that the AppStore had a shortage of detective stories and mysteries, or that Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson weren’t already present on iTunes. The movie was out on the 25th of December in the US, the game came out on the 5 days earlier across the AppStore. Of course that would be an eye catcher right there. The character looks very realistically Robert Downey Jr. and sure enough Watson was an animated Jude Law. So you might be wondering if the game profited from the release of the movie, or better yet, if the movie profited from having the game released before hand.

The two are not alike (+1), but the movie is better in more ways than one (-1 for the iPhone game). But be prepared to [...]

Guerrilla Bob Is One Bullet-Proof Game For Your iPhone

This one’s a beauty! A true action-packed adventure shooter right on your iPhone with Guerrilla Bob. Phenomenal graphics and incredibly fast-paced game play cast this game as one of the greatest action games for the beginning of 2010.

In Guerrilla Bob you fight as the fearless mercenary as he makes his way out of desert canyons, dangerous towns and the hordes of enemies that will flow towards you, all wanting but one thing: your guts on a silver platter. But not if you can help it. You have at your disposal one kick-ass arsenal of devastating weapons to wreck havoc.

Bob is apparently in personal vendetta to kill every man standing. The plot line goes on to be a bit Chuck Norris like, with Guerrilla Bob stopping a nuclear strike that would have taken out all the baddies in one shot, only to not be denied the [...]

Adam’s Trouble Gets The Best Of You

By AppBite Team   January - 23 - 2010    See more Apps inApp Reviews, Games & Entertainment   2 Comments

Next up is a little puzzle adventure game that kind of reminded me of my Enigmo days. With Adam’s Trouble you play as Adam – a strange beige creature with curiously bulging eyes who can’t swim. He’s trapped in a creepy sewer and needs to get top-side ASAP if he’s to stay alive. Here’s where you come in and your goal is thus to make Adam jump from sewer step to sewer step, opening water valves until he opens the next escape hatch that leads out of this mess.

The challenge lies in moving fast and accurate as the water level rises and opening valves will make it rise even faster. Unfortunately, the only way to open the escape hatch is to turn on a few valves, so dexterity in controlling little Adam is the main requirement.

The little curious creature is butt-naked in the sewers, and you can even see his tail hanging from [...]

Want Your Own Virtual Girlfriend On Your iPhone?

First off, let me note I’m a girl and the last thing I want to see on my or my boyfriend’s iPhone is a virtual girlfriend. That being said it took a bit of patience for me to get over the fact that MyGirl is basically one hot chick that you can play with and that will actually respond to your actions. But I’m glad I did, because in a weird way, the app gives you some neat functionalities.

Now that all prejudice is out of play, I can tell you that I’ve enjoyed interacting with one of the truly hottest girls in the AppStore. MyGirl features a sexy top-model you can interact with in many different ways. In a sense, MyGirl does act like your virtual girlfriend and really behaves like one (except I’ve never seen her upset if you don’t give her attention every day).

Once you start up the application, you’re presented with [...]
