We’ve had a blast with this one last night. Funny Pics from StuckPixel provides your iPhone and iPod Touch with a careful selection of insanely funny images collected from the online. Flick through their collection and we guarantee you’ll be joining us down here on the floor, rolling and laughing. The app rapidly hit #1 in the AppStore for Top Free Apps. Yes, it’s free entertainment!

Agreed, the app needs internet to connect for you to see the pictures, and you might ask what’s the point, when all the pictures are already online. Well, the app is free and does all the “detective” work for you. Also, a lot of the pictures you see there are not easy to come across, and, anyway, it’s a terrific way to start the day – with a big smile and maybe a laugh.

The development team from Iceblink Software took a nice game that offered real challenges and a careful eye and turned it into something trivial, without providing any kind of punch line at all.

With Beach Spotter, you are challenged to spot differences not in quote un-quote boring building, landscapes or mundane objects, but in sunny beaches and women in bikinis. Overlooking the fact that the game offers less of a challenge than any similar type of games, Beach Spotter relies basically on one thing: capturing your eye with the hot bodies to distract you from noticing that rebel piece of hair that’s missing from one of the pictures.

Yes, they’re both cuddling and oh-so-harmless, but apparently they hate each others’ guts, as the game for the iPhone and iPod Touch from Digital Chocolate pits one against the other and forces you to catapult penguins through fire rings and smash them through ice bricks to ultimately knock polar bears out cold.

At first you get to walk your penguin from mission location to mission location on a heroes-style map. Each of those missions gets harder in difficulty, but essentially they all rely on the same basic principles of game-style. Each consists of two phases for the game. At first, your task is to successfully launch a series of penguins through a targeted area with a catapult. The penguins bounce up and down on a rope, and your catapult operator penguing has to hit the bouncer at just the precise time to make it go to the next phase, where it will play its role as a live bomb to strike down those ferocious polar bears.

Flying monkeys fall short of impressing

monkey-flight-iphone-game-review

Monkey Flight from Donut Games gives your iPhone or iPod Touch the power of the bent palm tree to catapult your monkey as far as possible to collect exotic fruits like bananas, mangos or pineapple. Watch out for mud piles and rocks, as they will slow you down.

The game controls are pretty simple. Tap on the screen and hold to launch the monkey up or down at the appropriate time. There’s a power bar that will let you know when you’re hitting the max. Once you let go of the monkey, the palm tree will launch it across the screen and you get to watch it bounce up and down collecting fruits until it stumbles upon a rock or a mud pile. Elephants and clouds will help it bounce further, an you can help it stay in the air by tapping on it to make it fart. But that’s pretty much all you can do with your monkey. Did we mention you get to watch it bounce up and down and all over your screen? You’re given three monkeys to get the highest score, but things can get repetitive pretty quickly.
