heyway-iphone-app-review

HeyWAY, short for Hey Where Are You, is an interesting development in location services, that makes use of the iPhone’s OS 3.0 push notification spiced up with a handful of social networking options to keep track of where your friends, family and colleagues are, or keep them up to date with where you are at the moment.

The app was intended to keep you in touch with family members, friends or even co-workers, but the truth is there are limitless opportunities when using this seemingly simple iPhone app. Whether you’re running late for a business meeting, forgot where that all-important date was or want to keep a check on your kids when they’re out clubbing, HeyWAY gives you all you need: one simple interface built for easy access, an enhanced set of features built on top of the iPhone’s OS 3.0, all packaged into one great app. [...]

The online culture has been rapidly growing and given birth to today’s generation, or what others have dubbed – the “Messenger Generation.” The use of shortcuts when chatting with friends online has been under a lot of criticism. Although it’s purely debatable whether “brb” or “ttyl” is undermining education, one thing is clear enough: the use of small pictures to add expression and emotion to the otherwise plain instant electronic message has grown as an integral part of online writing. For a device such as the iPhone, missing these emoticons was clearly not acceptable. Enter iEmoji to bring emoticons to your finger tips.

iEmoji allows iPhone users to turn on their emoticons while writing an sms, note or to-do task. If there’s writing involved, emoticons are available. By turning on this [...]

bikini-lines-iphone-game-review

I’ve seen my share of Tetris look-alikes, so when reading about Bikini Lines I hoped for some kind of compelling twist to the game. Bikini Girls for the iPhone and iPod Touch is a game of challenge indeed. Control a set of randomly placed balls on the screen by moving them around to form a line of same colored balls and clear it out. Moving the balls is simple enough, and all you need is a clear path from point A to point B to move it. If you feel like you’ve heard of this game before, it’s because you actually have, and the chance is, you might have also played it. Some time ago, we published a review of a similar game – Fuzzle.

The twist, or rather, the difference between Fuzzle and Bikini Lines is a rather distracting background: beautiful girls in bikini. Clearing out a set of balls on the screen [...]

With safety and health being the words of the day, knowing how to apply the right kind of first aid is an universal concern. Amongst the numerous books, booklets, websites, blogs and training videos that provide you with adequate knowledge of what and how to do in case of a medical emergency, there is one iPhone app that everyone should have. iMobile Care is the essential iPhone companion, since books and guides won’t cut it when faced with an actual emergency situation that calls for action rather than research.

On the surface, iMobile Care is just another first aid training manual. It provides you with illustrated First Aid Guides, complete with instructions, so you’re always prepared for the actual situation. On the other hand, the neat features of iMobile Care rely more on each of the user’s [...]

contacts-plus-iphone-app-review

It’s a given that the iPhone’s native Contacts is perhaps not Apple’s sturdiest creations, and there have been many improvements that users wanted or functionality that should have been there in the first place. The foundations for them are clear, and it’s not quite obvious why the Apple development team didn’t make the next logical step with Contacts. But where Contacts fails, ContactsPlus innovates.

Not necessarily aiming at being a replacement for the iPhone’s native contacts manager, but merely a logical extension, ContactsPlus is the iPhone app that lets you quickly and effectively organize and sort your existing contacts. With ContactsPlus, you can create, organize and delete groups of contacts based on company names, work groups, job titles, or any other field-related characteristic [...]
