This is the ninth room that you’ll find yourself in - entitled "Judgment." If you want to take a look at our walkthrough of the Eight Room you can find it via the link. So fire up your Escape The Room 2 game and let’s go!
Room 9 is Judgement and it is, by far, the hardest room you’ve been trapped in. As a heads up, you'll have to go through more than 8 rooms to clear this level and you're gonna need at least one item in every room to be able to resolve the mysteries in the following rooms. There are a lot of things to do, codes are getting harder and harder to crack and time is limited. I won’t separate this walkthrough into items you need to pick up and then all the puzzles, because each room needs items from the previous room to solve. Also, all the adjacent rooms in this level are basically rooms you’ve previously been in. That’s a neat way to keep things in perspective and keep in mind that the whole game is a puzzle, not just individual levels.
Due to the fact that this level is so big, for readability purposes, I've divided the walkthrough into two parts. This is the first part. The second part you can find via the link. The first part contains the main room and the first additional room, while the second part will reveal the secrets of the other three additional rooms.
The main room
In this room, you’ll only need two items a hidden cursor in the small, grey cabinet near the North wall and a diary on the table in the Northeast corner. Take a closer look at the diary and you will see that it is made up of four pages with four different dates. And it so happens that there are four doors with lockers, two on the North wall, and two on the South one. When you try to unlock them, you can see a four digit number near the lock. It's not the code you have to enter, but if you take a look at the diary, every one of these numbers is a year in the diary.
The code for every door is made up of the month and day entries corresponding to each year in your diary. So, you’ll be able to open the Southeast door with 0521, the Southwest with 0130, the Northwest with 1118 and the Northeast with 1224.
I’m giving you all these codes already because you’ll honestly don’t have time to figure them out every time. You won’t make it out of the room alive in just one sitting. I’ve had to go through the game about 10 times to figure out everything and escape in one piece.
You need to enter rooms in their chronological order, that is by putting the years in order and entering rooms as such. The first room you have to enter is the Southeast one.
Southeast room
Take a closer look at the writings on the floor, pick up the red switch near the vault, push the elevator button on the East wall and enter the elevator. You get to a second room, where you have to get Jigsaw 9 from the green cabinet near the blue door and open this door.
You end up in a third room(confused yet?). This is actually Room 7. Pick up the cutter on the floor and take a closer look at the piece of paper on the East wall. It's a set of instructions for mixing up the colored buttons under the vault on the North wall. The right order is: yellow, green, red, blue, purple.
Open the vault and take the gold key. There are also a couple of scrambled numbers on the floor. Remember what the writing on the floor said. Use the switch in the hole near the door to turn off the light. Four numbers will glow in the dark: 2418. Go back to the first room and use the code to open the vault. Grab Memory Card A and the balloon.
Going back to the main room now, place the memory card you just picked up in the slot and use the magnifying glass to see what’s on the monitor in the centre of the room. It will reveal something from your past. And with every other room you exit, you'll have to insert the memory cards in the device before entering the next room. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
