Le Vamp iPhone Game Review.
If you feel like there's been a while since you came across a game so addictive you ended up spending hours in front of your device, then you should take a look at Le Vamp. It's cheap, wonderfully designed, fun, and crazy addictive.
Le Vamp is more like an endless power walking game, than an endless running one. Because Le Vamp is not nearly as fast as the Minion in Minion Rush, or the characters in Temple Run. But the idea is basically the same: get le vamp safely to his crypt, while avoiding obstacles, feeding him pigs and collecting coins.
More complex than other endless running games
Le Vamp is an extremely complex game. If with other endless running games, the main problem was that you had to move from left to right, while your character started picking up speed, here, le vamp only runs in a straight line. But there are way more obstacles to avoid than with these other endless running games. And I don't think "avoid" is the right word to use. Better said, there are a lot of obstacles you'll have to do something about.
A lot of obstacles to face
Because, with Le Vamp, avoiding obstacles is rarely an option. You have to cut, yank, smash, block, fling, or destroy the obstacles surrounding you. And from evil pumpkin piles and le wurst, to sun and water, there are a lot of things to protect le vamp from. And, you can only imagine, since there are so many actions involved, there are also a lot of controls to remember. Fortunately, they are pretty intuitive. So, even if you restart playing Le Vamp some time after you went through the Tutorial, you'll eventually remember what you have to do.
Really helpful power-ups and upgrades
Besides obstacles, there are also things that can help le vamp. Like eating pigs. But be careful, because not all sorts of pigs are good for le vamp. Direct pink, juicy pigs to him, but get orange, garlic pigs away from him. Also, with the coins you collect, you can buy all kinds of power-ups and upgrades to make your job easier, and turn your character into a better vamp by clearing as many achievements as possible. Plus, soon you'll also be able to buy all sorts of charms & curses and clothing items, as well.
All in all, even if you're stuffed with endless running games, you should give Le Vamp a shot. It's truly one of the funniest, most addictive games I've played in a while.
