bikini-lines-iphone-game-review

I’ve seen my share of Tetris look-alikes, so when reading about Bikini Lines I hoped for some kind of compelling twist to the game. Bikini Girls for the iPhone and iPod Touch is a game of challenge indeed. Control a set of randomly placed balls on the screen by moving them around to form a line of same colored balls and clear it out. Moving the balls is simple enough, and all you need is a clear path from point A to point B to move it. If you feel like you’ve heard of this game before, it’s because you actually have, and the chance is, you might have also played it. Some time ago, we published a review of a similar game – Fuzzle.

The twist, or rather, the difference between Fuzzle and Bikini Lines is a rather distracting background: beautiful girls in bikini. Clearing out a set of balls on the screen [...]

abracadabra-iphone-app-review

Time for some magic to happen here at Appbite. Yes, I’m talking literally hocus-pocus, and no, I’m not going to present you with an app that shows Youtube videos of famous magicians. Abracadabra is the DIY magic app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Instead of showing off tricks, the app provides a basic how-to intro into the world of famous magic tricks you can do at home or to wow your friends.

As soos as you start up Abracadabra, behold a list of simple magic tricks to select from. Choose the one that captures your eyes and head on to the next screen, where the trick is thouroughly described in minute details. So far, so not-so-magical, right? But the developers didn’t stop here. They went deaper into details by providing you with another screen where you can see the trick being performed [...]

frogger-iphone-game-review

Yet another classic old school flash game is available for your iPhone and iPod Touch. We probably remember Frogger and the blind spots we see after playing it for hours on end. In this classic entertainer, you help Frogger – the frog – overcome different obstacles to reach the other side of the river bank.

For those of you that haven’t played it before, it shouldn’t be a problem, but here’s the basic rundown of how it works. You have to move the frog from the bottom of the screen towards the top, avoiding busy traffic, getting run down by the speeding cars, in order to get to the other side. Various bonus points are up for grabs by getting on top of the fly or escorting the lady frog to safety. You get to the next level after successfully completing the course with 5 frogs [...]

egg-runner-iphone-game-review

Amidst all the alien invaders, sudoku or tetris-like games lies EggRunner, a fun and innovative game for your iPhone and iPod Touch that’s pure fun in an eggshell. The game requires concentration and skill, but, at the end of the day, one thing is key: balance. Your task is to balance the virtual egg on the surface, don’t let it fall over and avoid all the bugs that might get in the way.

There is certainly one thing that really stands out with EggRunner, and that is the highly detailed graphics. The egg actually looks and behaves like a raw egg, with a perfect flow of the egg white on the surface. Maneuvering the virtual egg is perfectly realistic and it gives the game the upper hand when comparing it to other similar games. The game certainly has a lot more than sweet graphics and realistic animation sequences to it. [...]

badaboo-iphone-game-review

The App Store featured this week in its Top 10 Free Apps one pure pick-up-and-play funny game that’s already in user favorites. The shiny cartoonish colors, incredibly pretty audio and the social networking integration tool have made Badaboo one game that’s hard to put down once you pick it up.

Similar to Fuzz Friend, in Badaboo you have a big round bouncing ball with two cute eyes, which they call a Bada, that you have to flick around the screen with your finger. You have a target to flick at as well: seven Boos – similar bouncing balls with just one eye and that change color from red to blue and yellow each time they are hit with the Bada. If in Fuzz Friend, the game had a sort of stress relief element to it, in Badaboom you’re awarded points every time the Boos hit Bada, the walls surrounding the [...]

2012-movie-iphone-app-review

7th century Mayan prophet Pacal Votan foretold of our accelerated technological society and left an universal message for future generations that the circle of evolution will complete on winter solstice, December 21, 2012 AD. This is a thousand-year-old Mayan prophecy foretelling the end of the world to happen in the year 2012. Sony Pictures picked up on it and turned it into a movie to be released this November. As we’ve seen with Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs, before the movie, there was the iPhone app. The difference now is, 2012 Movie – the iPhone app – makes sense and gets the user involved. Not to mention the app can easily be categorized as an Educational iPhone application.

In 2012 Movie, you embark on an epic adventure to avoid global cataclysm. Your task is to reach Tibet and high [...]

splojit-iphone-game-review

Combining sounds and colors will literally drive you nuts in this memory-test iPhone game. Splojit has its roots in the popular web-based game Simon Sez but the ported game on the iPhone beats all odds and gives the user an indeed unique experience, incomparable to its forefather.

For those that don’t know about Simon Sez, the basic idea is simple enough. As soon as you start the game, you’re shown a sequence of colored spots flashing on the screen, each playing a differently pitched sound. Simply repeat the sequence to get to the next one. While Simon Sez only has four colors, with Splojit you have an entire board of 4 x 4 possibilities (think Wack A Mole). Also, with Splojit you have to watch out for the timer if you want to get a high score. So keep your reflexes close at hand and you’re all set.[...]
