If you’re looking for a smart puzzle game, Bicolor is definitely a game you must try this week. It’s currently the App of the Week in the App Store, so, you can have it for free this week only. And, even if it might seem tricky at first, you’ll get charmed by Bicolor in no time.

Bicolor is such a simple game that it’s complicated to describe it. So, I won’t even go into detail, because this will only make it look extremely complicated, when, in fact, Bicolor is anything but. In short, you start every level with two colors on the screen, and by the end of each level, a single color out of the two must feel the entire screen. That is, of course, the color that was filling most of the screen space at [...]

Diamond Digger Saga icon

If you finished all the levels in all the games developed by King so far, you should be extremely happy to know that Diamond Digger Saga was just released. So, let de madness begin all over again!

Ups: Even if you wouldn’t see the King logo at the beginning of the game, you’d probably recognise the style. But even if the style is the same, Diamond Digger Saga is not another Candy Crush. And that’s not only because here you have diamonds, and other precious stones, instead of candy. The controls are also different.

You don’t swap pieces to make them form a row, you tap on already formed rows (with three or more pieces) to clear them. And all these rows of precious stones form a barrier that keep the water from running. Your job: clear the right rows, using as little moves as you can, to make the water follow its course [...]

Madden NFL Mobile icon

For all of you NFL fans out there, the App Store has a real treat in store for you. This is Madden NFL Mobile, and you absolutely must give it a try. Even I tried it, and thought it was really cool. And I’m far from being an NFL fan.

Ups: Madden NFL Mobile is a typical EA Sports game. And I say this in the best possible way. The game has got everything that make EA Sports’ games probably the best sports games in the App Store, on Playstation, X-Box, and whatever gaming device you can think of. Great graphics, realistic gameplay, intuitive controls. Plus, the game offers you the possibility to be both player, and manager. So, you get all the action, but also all the responsibility for the failure, or the success of your team.

With Madden NFL Mobile, you get to build your team, collect money, buy better players, train them, plus personally choose the tactics [...]

Looking for a new puzzle game to put your mind to the test? You feel like you haven’t practiced your strategy moves in a long time and want to get them up to date? Then, Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage (Universal) is definitely the game for you. Challenging, engaging, a real brain teaser that will bring you a lot of satisfaction with every level you clear. And it’s absolutely free of charge…this week only.

My experience with Icebreaker was… let’s just say weird. I’m used to games that get harder and harder as you clear more levels. But with Icebreaker, I was only at the second level, when I realised I wasn’t able to clear the mission. And the first level was more of a Tutorial than an actual challenge, so you can understand my frustration. I was ready to give up on the game, when, in just a couple of moves, I managed to clear the mission I’ve previously [...]

Star Wars Commander icon

Star Wars: Commander is definitely my favorite game this week. It’s challenging, it puts your strategic thinking to the test, you build stuff, you battle…it’s got everything it needs to be a super great game. And I really think it’s going to be my new addiction for some time now.

Ups: Star Wars: Commander is a game where you practically control everything. You take care of your Base, build it almost from scratch, and as you gain money and alloy materials, you make it bigger and stronger. How do you get these resources? By using the resources you initially have to build all sorts of Credit Markets, Alloy Refineries, and other buildings that, in time, start making more resources for you to use. And, of course, by fighting battles. You buy Training Camps, upgrade them, and train tens of Chewbaccas, Han Solos, and other [...]

Looks like robots are in, these couple of weeks. After EPOCH.2 was App of the Week until a couple of days ago, this week’s app is yet another robot game called Atom Run. And the story is also pretty similar: after a huge disaster, the only living things left behind are robots, and even they are not as they used to be. After being exposed to radiation, almost all of them have gone mad. The only exception is Elgo, a cute and extremely nice little robot, which you’ll control in Atom Run.

So, your main job in this game is to help Elgo complete his mission. And this is to find and collect all the atoms and molecules that are critical to creating new life. But although Elgo will come across a lot of these atoms and molecules on its way, the road is anything but danger-free. From mad robots to flaming platforms and electrical wires scattered along its path, Elgo will have [...]

Phoenix Wright icon

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies looked like one of the most promising games this week, so I was really excited to try it out. Unfortunately, I can’t say it was all I expected. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high. However, I don’t regret trying it out, but I can’t say I would pay to play the other episodes.

Ups: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is a really nice designed game, with a pretty captivating plot. In this game, you get to be part of a trial, collect clues, hear testimonies and get involved in the process. The game tests your detective skills, and you have to pay attention to every detail. So, when it’s up to you to take control of the situation, you should know what piece of evidence helps, how to prove a contradiction in someone’s statement, and how to interpret certain [...]
