You just heard the latest gossip. Reach for your phone, call you friend and start gossiping. Before you know it, you have been talking on the phone for half an hour and your friend isn’t even in the same country as you are. The laughter stops, you start worrying about the bill and tell your friend that you have to hang up. But what if you could call and text all your friends without paying a cent for it? Well, with Voypi you can. Sure enough, Voypi is entering a market that’s already saturated and with Skype leading the way and Apple soon entering the same market with iMessages in iOS5, it’s not sure whether Voypi will be around that long.

That’s not to say that Voypi doesn’t have its stake in this game. The app lets you make calls and send messages to your friends over the internet, without having to pay a dime, for either the app or the messages [...]

Before downloading this next game, please make sure that you have your power charger ready and at hand, snacks and drinks right there on the sofa with you, because you’re in for a game that will pin you to your chair without pause. The Secret of Chateau De Moreau is an adventure-puzzle-mystery game where you’re both the killer and the detective trying to prove your innocence. The game is designed primarily for the iPhone, but it displays beautifully on the iPad with 2x mode.

With most games I’ve played, the prologue to the story is something I’d inevitably end up skipping after the first few seconds. It’s definitely not the case with The Secret Chateau De Moreau. The story draws you in from the first flickers of the screen. The sound is intended to augment this effect and that too works perfect to set the mood.

The basic plot [...]

*Knock, knock!*
“Who’s there?” you ask frightened.
“Zombies!” the answer comes and you get shivers down your spine.
“Zombies who?” you ask with a fainted school-girl voice.
“Zombie Juice!” and all hell breaks loose. There’s zombies everywhere in the streets right in front of your house. You board yourself in your house and hold your fingers crossed.

At least that’s what you’d normally do, but in Zombie Juice, crossing your fingers is your worst move since your fingers are your only weapons.

Right now, Zombie Juice features two game modes and two levels of play. The object of the game is to juice as many zombies as you can while defending your yard and your home from packs of ranging zombies that never seem to stop spawning in the streets. You do this by slicing them with your finger, just a quick swipe across them will do.

Of course, some are more [...]

discover-dinosaurs-ipad-game-review

From the creators of Find & Match 1 – 100 comes the newest puzzle/quiz game that’s aimed at children 6 to 10 years. Last time it was sharks, now we’re talking pre-historic animals that became extinct before there even was a world for us to live in. Yes, you guessed it: dinosaurs. Discover Dinosaurs, iPad-only, wants to push children towards learning the most basic facts about these creatures, but does the taken approach make things fun and interesting enough for their target audience? A bit doubtful.

It’s part puzzle part quiz. Children will first need to take a three question quiz at the beginning of each level. The questions get tougher as the child progresses and you need to get at least one of the three questions right before you can unlock the next level.

Questions for the quiz show you a picture of the dinosaur and range from what type of dinosaur [...]

Popular Baby Names

Popular Baby Names by Aesop. Find that perfect baby name and want to reference popular names from a wide variety of years and countries, then this app is likely one for you.

Unlike a book that can be out of date by the time it’s published, the Pop Names app gives you hundreds of baby names at your fingertips and allows you to search through these names in many ways.

As with all AESOP apps, the app is fairly self explanatory, although sometimes you wonder if you might miss features if you didn’t accidentally tap on something or scroll down as far as you did. My advice, check out the app in full!

cowboys-aliens-ipad-game-review

When a spaceship lands in the 1800s in the wild west, you know it means trouble. You also know it might make for a silly plot in a movie. Well, the movie was made – Cowboys & Aliens – directed by Jon Favreau, one of my favorite actors, whom you might remember from Iron Man, G-Force or Daredevil. It wasn’t log before the iOS game surfaced as well, and I’m glad to say it’s not a feeble attempt to cash in on the movie. And why do I say this? Because I haven’t seen the movie, so I’m taking the iPad game Cowboys & Aliens as the first experience with the “franchise.”

In Cowboys & Aliens the iOS game, you play Zeke, the gunslinger of the west, as you defend Silver City against the attacking alien horde. The game puts you in charge of the city’s defenses and his hero for 15 gun-fighting intensive missions.

In order to play Cowboys & Aliens, you only need opposable thumbs [...]
