There’s no news in saying that the iPhone is like having your very own Toys ‘R Us in your pocket. It’s gaming delight at its best, where age limit doesn’t really play a role. Even your toddler could do it, and here’s one good example of just this.

Touch & Discover: Animals is the simplest iPhone app I’ve seen that tries to create a learning environment for your young ones. The app, that uses just simple touches, lets your toddler recognize animals and learn how the unique sounds they make.

I didn’t. What about the praying mantis? I didn’t even know they made sounds. That’s the whole point of Touch & Discover: Animals. The app uses the simplest of game mechanics and teaches your toddlers about the wonderful world of animals. How a tiger looks like? What sounds does it make? It features a grand total of 57 different animals, along with high quality [...]

It’s been a while since I haven’t played a game as complete as Enigmo. A game that has it all, is not afraid to combine bells and whistles with simple game play, and succeeds at it. Such a game is Don’t Drop 2 – a simple game with stunning graphics and great background music.

The objective of the game is to gather all the water droplets into the bottom bucket by shifting the tiles of the wall either left or right so that the seepage in the wall guides the droplets into your bucket. It’s worth mentioning that the bucket is slowly moving from left to right and back. While the various water droplets are in free fall, once you direct the wall seepage so that they fall within, they stop until the canal is continued downwards.

If your bucket gets filled, the game will offer a new bucket to you. If too many droplets drop outside the bucket, the water [...]

That’s right! With Mind Scan Camera, you can easily turn any photo-shoot occasion into a mind reading session. At least that’s what the developers have proposed to accomplish with this app. Whether or not they’ve actually done it, is up to you. There’s no reason not to download this one and give it a shot, since it’s totally free.

So in essence, Mind Scan Camera uses either a picture from your camera roll or a fresh new photo you can take from within the app and scans it for faces. Once it detects the faces of people in the photo, it asks you to confirm that it nailed it right, and then it uses smokes and mirrors to detect which people exhibit which emotion. Essentially, smile and you’ll get a happy mood, look dull and you’re bored, scream and you’re angry, etc. The app is supposed to detect up to 12 different moods: Happy, Exciting, No-Idea, Angry [...]

With American Ball, you can create your own playground lobby for this classic ball rolling game. Topped with impressive 3D artwork, a wide variety of decorations and a simple gameplay system, American Ball may very well reside on your iPhone for good.

For those of you who don’t know the game, the mechanics and object are simple. You have to throw balls down a lane and place them in the differently numbered holes at the end of the lane. Each hole gives you a certain number of points, with the holes that are farthest away, and almost as small as the ball itself – making it harder to get in, having a higher score.

In American Ball, you have 9 turns and you have to make the best of it. At the end of your turn, depending on the score you got, you’re awarded a certain number of tickets. And this is where the game pushes a reward system. [...]

oz-wizard-iphone-app-review

Oz Wizard on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad is the interactive storybook that tells the famous story of Dorothy, Toto and their three friends, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion, as they travel to the Wizard of Oz to make their wishes come true. There’s no doubt that the story of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” has traveled across the world both in book and movie form, and that children all over know of Dorothy and Toto’s adventures. The development team from Blue Finger have their own version of this true classic and they’re bringing it to your mobile device of choice.

One thing to note is that Oz Wizard tells a shorter story than Baum’s original version. The original book has a lot more adventure in it and does provide more insights into the whole story, not to mention the characters themselves as [...]

Egg War is perhaps the most entertaining game I’ve played all week. It’s a whole new addition to the AppStore, released just today. And what a great addition it is. The gameplay is simple, addictive and entertaining. It touches your imagination and with some great graphics and artwork, we’re looking at a potential winner here.

In Egg War, you need to protect the egg farm and the Angle eggs that are running around the filed trying to make their way home. Protect it from what you ask? Well, it seems that Satan has spawned himself an army of eggs and is trying to invade your egg farm. Your finger is the only one standing it its way.

Egg War is a type of tower defense game. As enemy eggs appear on the screen, you need to squash them, either by swiping across it on the screen, or by simply touching it. Things would be easy if there [...]

It’s true that slowly but surely traditional printed business cards go out of style. It was technology that made them possible, and it will be technology that will make them obsolete. While everyone has one way or another of looking at when and how this will come true, there are developers in the AppStore that have taken this matter into their own hands and went beyond the drawing board.

One such app that evolved from sketches and is available for download on your iPhone is WeMet Pro. The app tries to solve the clumsy task of exchanging contact information, by proposing its own way of putting aside the printed business cards.

WeMet Pro is designed with one goal in mind. To make it easy for you to take down your contact’s information and send him or her your own contact info from the same screen. As a first step, you’d need to tell WeMet Pro who [...]
