Math Whizzes Unite

I remember when I was in high school, our Math teacher had us keep a list of the most commonly used geometry formulas and theorems in order to solve problems in the classroom. He actually took it to a point where he would deduct points if we didn’t have that stupid piece of paper with us. Idiotic, I know, but back then the iPhone wasn’t around and neither was Geometry Stash from Apparent Etch.

Geometry Stash is just what it says it is: a ready-to-use stash of the most commonly used theorems, postulates and corollaries you’d ever need in your Geometry class. If these words have already put you in the dark, then Geometry Stash may be for you. Consider this! Are you in highschool, either studying or teaching? Do you often find yourself looking for the formula you need to solve that geometry problem? Are you studying for GMAT or other similar [...]

In this arcade-style boxing game from Morning Egg Inc., you need to fight your way to the top of the championship, while facing 100 different boxers as you progress through the ranks. If you were ever into games like Mortal Kombat along with other classic examples of underground club scene fighting of the 90’s, then you’ll feel in the right mood with Boxing Fighter for the iPhone.

As you start up the game, there are three choices for you: Fight, Career and Vs. In Vs. mode you will need a real opponent to play against over WiFi. The Fight mode pits you against a computer opponent in a quick one-time fight. The Career mode is where the magic happens.

In Career mode, you’ll have to fight through 100 boxers to the top of the championship. This isn’t as easy as the one-time fight mode, as opponents increase [...]

Don’t let its name fool you! Christmas Gift is not a Christmas shopping list app. Instead, the app lets you create beautiful winter-white Christmas cards from available pictures in your Camera Roll or even take one on the spot that you can edit and send to friends and family.

If you were looking for a unique card to send to your friends, something they can easily relate to and possibly remind them of you, the card sender and their friend, then Christmas Gift is a great choice.

Open up the app, and you have two options. You can either take a picture on the spot or choose one from your Photo Library. Once you’ve chosen a picture, all you have to do is start blowing on your iPhone to create a frosty border around it.

The free version stops here, but your card is not yet ready. For additional options, you need to purchase their Gift Bag [...]

In Liberty Wings you take control of of a World War II air fighter as you make your way through enemy fire coming from both air planes and ground units such as tanks, anti-aircraft guns or boats and carriers. The intro to the game is rather short, so you’re put in the pilot’s seat pretty fast, without too much of the story line being explained to you. As you complete missions, you find out that your mission is to take down all elements of the Nazi Atom Bomb Project.

The first level of the game will surely throw you off. At first, the game will appear to be just like any other arcade space shooter game. All you do is move the airplane sideways as it auto-fires at incoming enemy planes. The first level is also pretty easy and shouldn’t take you more than a couple of minutes to go through.

However, don’t get down on this [...]

It’s A Wacky, Cheesy Adventure

cheese-mouse-iphone-game-review

A fun game for all ages, Cheese & Mouse aims to challenge the concept of Whack-a-Mole in a rapid-style arcade game for the iPhone. The purpose of the game is simple. You’re the cat and you’re entrusted to protect the block of cheese from the mice that will try to eat it.

Controls are pretty straight forward and the game does a great job at alerting you of the different types of mice you’ll encounter at each level. The mice will come out of the different wholes in the cheese and you have to touch them as they appear in sight before they disappear back in the hole. Regular mice go down with one blow (simply touch them as they come out of the holes). Then you have the bigger mice claw-proof helmets and these will take two blows to take down. Another type of mice is completely blow-proof, so you’ll have to drag them out of the cheese instead of hitting [...]
