Magnet Boy iPhone Game Review.
Robots are such useful things. But, apparently, not everybody thinks this way. This explains why some extremely awesome robots have just been destroyed. However, not all hope is gone. At least, not as long as Magnet Boy is around. All he needs is your help, and together you can bring all the destroyed robots back to life. All set? Then just download Magnet Boy from the AppStore, and let the game begin.
What is Magnet Boy
Magnet Boy is a smart, fun game to play. Your task is to stick Magnet Boy to different other magnets, while collecting stars and robot parts on the way. Your goal? To collect all the missing robot parts that will help recreate the damaged robots. To do this, you'll need to exercise your aim and put that keen mind of yours to work, as well. Nothing more, nothing less. Think you're up for the task?
Magnet Boy is a progressive arcade game, made up of multiple levels, of which you can play 20 for free. The rest up to 80 are up for grabs through in-app purchases. Now, no matter what you choose to do, as far as the game goes, you can clear the levels one after another, or jump straight to the level you want, without playing the previous ones. The good part about this is that if you ever get stuck with one level, you can jump to another without getting all frustrated. However, bare in mind that every level is harder than the previous one, so jumping straight to level 20 might make the game too hard to enjoy.
Controls, game play & graphics
As fat as controls go, Magnet Boy might seem a bit hard to play at first. It is intuitive and all, but setting the trajectory of Magnet Boy might prove to be a bit of a hassle the first few levels. That's mainly because you're not dealing with a straight trajectory line, but rather with a circular one. And another important thing about the game play: you should always pay attention to the color of Magnet Boy. When he's red, he'll bounce back when colliding with other red magnets, and stick to blue ones. And vice-versa, of course. It's pretty logical, actually. The thing is that, as far as I understand, you should be able to keep Magnet Boy's color the way you want it, as he flies towards another magnet. But I couldn't manage to figure out how to do this. So, while playing, Magnet Boy changed color every time I launched him, and there wasn't pretty much anything I could do about it, but set his trajectory accordingly.
Other than that, Magnet Boy has really great graphics. And the game is pretty engaging, once you get a hang of the controls. New elements keep appearing as you play the game, and this keeps it fresh and surprising. Plus, Magnet Boy is a pretty lovable character, as well. All things considered, you should really take a look at Magnet Boy. There are 20 free levels waiting for you, and Magnet Boy makes up for a very good time waster, no matter where you are and what you're doing.
