This is basically what Operation Wow for the iPhone asks of you. It’s truly a unique experience, an exhilarating game, but sadly, only 6 levels. Don’t get down though, those 6 missions will get the most of you yet!

Operation Wow challenges you to fight your way through the horde of enemies that are all trained to kill you on the spot. It’s a game of speed, a game of eye-hand coordination and a game that will have you pulling your hair out from the very first level.

Playing Operation Wow is simple, in theory. All you need is to touch the enemy soldiers that appear on the screen, therefore killing them before they kill you. One shot won’t kill you, but it drains your health, and believe me, starting with the second level, you’re gonna need all the health you can get.

In addition to shooting soldiers, you’ll need to take down helicopters, army boats [...]

YumYumBoy Is Just YumYum On The iPhone!

I love me some MikeyD’s! So does YumYum Boy. Sure, the boy is virtual and doesn’t gain weight or has a massive coronary, even though he eats a lot of fast food in this game. I’m not saying that you should substitute your fast food cravings with this puzzle game, but I am saying that YumYumBoy is as addictive as Big Mac from beneath the golden arches.

YumYumBoy is a puzzle game for your iPhone that makes you solve connect-three types of puzzles with the pieces of the puzzle being fast food items such as sodas, french fries, tacos or ice-creams.

Your goal in the game is to eat as much fast food as you can to satisfy your appetite. Your mum would rather have you eating healthy, vegetables and such (yuk, right?), so you should avoid eating any of those throughout the game.

The way you eat is by moving around the different food dispensers, picking up your [...]

Ultimate Arm Wrestling Is Not That Ultimate

I usually start my reviews with the game itself and then move on to the soundtracks and graphics. For Ultimate Arm Wrestling, I think the best part of the game is the choice in music. The soundtrack is aggressive and in perfect tone with the type of the game. (Hint: try to tap the button according to the beat. If you manage to do it, you can’t lose).

When it comes to graphics, there’s not much to it. The game pitches a red bald guy versus a blue bald guy. It’s obvious both have been to the gym. :) Other than that, the graphics tend to stay out of your way, presumably to make room for the game and the gameplay itself.

There’s actually not much to it in Ultimate Arm Wrestling. If you read the developer’s description on the AppStore, you’ll see that this is more than just a monkey pushing a button. Well, actually, it’s not [...]

Shoot the Apple, very simple to understand – move the iPad in the direction you wish for the target cross-hairs to move and then tap the screen to shoot

Puzzle Has A New Name – VideoPuzzle!

If traditional puzzles bore you, perhaps you should give VideoPuzzle a try. VideoPuzzle from Ideateca is, at its heart, a tile-based puzzle game, with the added possibility to use your own videos as game tiles.

The game play is simple. Once you’ve launched a new game, the tiles are randomly arranged on the screen and you have to put them back together by dragging tiles or double-tapping them. Dragging one tile over another make the two switch positions, while double-tapping any one tile will flip that tile up-side down.

Nothing new under the sun so far. The real innovation behind VideoPuzzle is that instead of still pictures, the game features videos as game levels. You can choose between Arcade mode, Camera Mode, Photo Album and Video Album.

The most interesting to me seemed the Camera Mode, where you can open up your iPhone camera and solve [...]

Make Your Own Connect-Three Puzzle Game Starring You

starfaces-iphone-app-review

It might seem confusing reading that headline up there. Let me make it simpler. Starfaces is the iPhone app that lets you create and share a connect-three type of game where you can completely customize the game tiles by using photos of you, your friends, or your family. In Starfaces, your face is the star!

First up, I need to point out the rather confusing navigation of the app. When you first launch it, it might appear as if you’ve just launched the App Store app. The bottom bar gives you the most popular games, a featured category, the store option, share and profile. From these, you wouldn’t really guess that “Share” is where the action is.

As soon as you get there, the app does a great job to walk you through the puzzle creation. You have to select 5 photos that you’d like to use in the game as tiles. You can either [...]

There’s no news in saying that the iPhone is like having your very own Toys ‘R Us in your pocket. It’s gaming delight at its best, where age limit doesn’t really play a role. Even your toddler could do it, and here’s one good example of just this.

Touch & Discover: Animals is the simplest iPhone app I’ve seen that tries to create a learning environment for your young ones. The app, that uses just simple touches, lets your toddler recognize animals and learn how the unique sounds they make.

I didn’t. What about the praying mantis? I didn’t even know they made sounds. That’s the whole point of Touch & Discover: Animals. The app uses the simplest of game mechanics and teaches your toddlers about the wonderful world of animals. How a tiger looks like? What sounds does it make? It features a grand total of 57 different animals, along with high quality [...]
