It’s time for yet another extremely addictive game for you to try out on you iPhone or iPod Touch. You are challenged to lineup three same-color gems from a multitude of gems you have on your board. Doing so, will get those gems out of the way, and make room for new ones. The catch is that the game idea behind it is to take gravity into account, as the new gems will not take the old ones’ places. They will instead fall from the top, pushing those underneath to fall into place.

The game has a moderate learning curve, as you have to swap adjacent gems to make sets of three or more of the same color touch and take them out. You don’t neet a lot of strategy to have in mind, but you should however be paying attention to what happens to adjacent gems when you take a row of same-colored gems out. You’re allowed to form any shape you want, including a straight line, L-shaped, U-shaped, or any other shape as long as the pieces are completely touching each other on one full side.

Rush down that rollercoaster slope

The iPhone game from the developers of Crazy Penguin Catapult, Digital Chocolate, Rollercoaster Rush offers you the ride of your life as you control a rollercoaster down, up and around un-easy slopes, trying not to crash it and kill-off the riders, and striving for that great experience only a rollercoaster can get you.

Just like with Crazy Penguin, you advance on a top-viewed map, from location to location, as the rides increase in difficulty. You are put in control of a rollercoaster and the entire idea behind the game is to speed up and slow down by tapping on the two side buttons at the bottom of the screen. The different rides have increasingly difficult and unexpected elements such as loop-da-loops, long drops and tight curves, all challenge your ability to react fast and break to prevent the carts from crashing or speed up to jump over the whole in the tracks up ahead. If you go too fast, your ride will crash and you can see the riders parachute off just in time. Game over. But you’re trying to offer them the best experience possible, and speeding is the only way to do that. Give them a good thrill and they scream and are generally happy, and you get those needed points to advance to the next level. The goal is to turn those smileys from the riders into points and get a high star rating at the end of the ride and eventually move on to the next level on the map.

With GOGII’s free application for the iPhone and iPod Touch, users can send completely free text messages between each other, create and manage group conversations with as many people as they want, or opt for a one-to-one communication.

Sure enough, there are other apps in the AppStore that allow users to send free messages just like the iPhone’s SMS, but most go for a couple of dollars. With TextPlus, apart from it being completely free to download and use, you get some cool improvements in the functionality and usability of such an app.

One of the most important features is the landscape keyboard that was missing from the iPhone’s native environment. Yes, the new iPhone 3GS will let users use the landscape mode across all apps on the iPhone, including SMS. It is nevertheless an important feature that TextPlus saw was missing and anticipated the OS 3.0. Thumbs up for that.

Following TechCrunch’s presentation for bChamp, the iPhone App that does all the beatboxing your voice can’t handle, one of our testers quickly purchased the app, and he couldn’t have been more happier with the result. He’s an 8 Mile fan, and wouldn’t you believe it, he has no talent at beatboxing, but the bChamp app for the iPhone and iPod Touch made him one dope rapper.

The Dutch development team at Monodomo came up with a nice idea for an app that is able to recognize specific sounds you make with your voice and amplify them to create powerful beats. The app is able to recognize three specific sounds anyone can make with their voice. Saying “k” as in “cabbage” into the mic will result into a snare-like sound coming out of the iPhone. “B” as in “bogus” gives a kickdrum, while the Hit-Hat is obtained by saying “t” with your teeth closed.

Agreed, the app needs internet to connect for you to see the pictures, and you might ask what’s the point, when all the pictures are already online. Well, the app is free and does all the “detective” work for you. Also, a lot of the pictures you see there are not easy to come across, and, anyway, it’s a terrific way to start the day – with a big smile and maybe a laugh.

Beach Spotter offers nothing new

The development team from Iceblink Software took a nice game that offered real challenges and a careful eye and turned it into something trivial, without providing any kind of punch line at all.

With Beach Spotter, you are challenged to spot differences not in quote un-quote boring building, landscapes or mundane objects, but in sunny beaches and women in bikinis. Overlooking the fact that the game offers less of a challenge than any similar type of games, Beach Spotter relies basically on one thing: capturing your eye with the hot bodies to distract you from noticing that rebel piece of hair that’s missing from one of the pictures.

With three gaming modes to choose from, the game is guaranteed to keep you wanting more giving you hours of pure fun and enjoyment.
